Back in February, on a Thursday afternoon, as I was unloading
groceries from the back of my truck, I noticed rust on the bumper.
I kept looking at the rust and thought I'd better try to clean it
up.
On Friday morning I was listening to The Ed Schultz Show.
Ed features Made in America during his program on Fridays.

Listeners can call in during this segment to tell Ed
about their products.
On Friday the 11th, this fellow called in and talked
with Ed about his product and mentioned that it was environmentally
safe. This caught my attention!
I was working on an article at the time, you know,
writing and listening...but I diverted from my assignment to look up
the product. I then sent the business owner an email.
Usually as I do I asked for the product MSDS sheet.
He emailed it back quickly and I began to read it over. Before
I could finish the review, he had sent me another email with an
answer to a question I had but hadn't had the time to ask.
Satisfied that the product was environmentally
friendly I emailed back to the fellow and asked for a sample.
Meanwhile, as we began to discuss the product and if
I liked it I'd post the information on my web site's Green Living
section, I discovered he was in Kentwood, Louisiana.
You might wonder what's up with this town, but this
turned out to be a coincidence of many proportions. And no, I don't
know Britney Spears, or think we are related.
You see, my mother's family, specifically her great
grandfather Amos, founded Kentwood.
Now you have to wonder just what are the odds of my
thinking about a safe metal cleaner and in less than 24 hours
hearing of one on a radio program, made in my mother's home town. I
did.
Since that time Brent DeLoach and I have had quite a
few emails and a genealogy discussion.
I'd been doing some research on my family because my
mother recently passed away and I was curious about things she had
never told me. In addition, I had set up a memorial fund in
her honor at the Kentwood library and another one for the high
school.
In my correspondence with the Tangipahoa parish
librarian, I'd sent him some old family photos of my grandmother,
great-grandmother and her home, two great aunts, my grandfather, an
uncle who died very young, and my mother.
I'd gone on to trace this back to the UK and also
to a line that links us to Princess Diana and Charlemagne.
Quick-Glo's owner is not a Kent as far as I know but he is in
one of Charlemagne's lines.
Getting back to the rusty bumper, here's proof of
how great this product works -

I used it too on my baby cup, but for sterling
silver you have to use the Ultra Fine

I'm working now on a stainless steel sink.
What is nice about Quick-Glo is this -
And I'm happy to recommend it to you.
