Make Your Own Colloidal Silver

Recently we received a communication referring to the action of the US EPA to label colloidal silver as a pesticide.  In light of this draconian measure, we thought it would be most helpful to your health if this following information was provided as part of our natural health education mission.

The source is a trusted colleague and I have sent these same instructions out to many over the years.

Antibiotics are both a blessing and a curse. There is no doubt that they have saved many lives, and almost eliminated death from bacterial infections. However, they have been overprescribed from the beginning, and this has caused two very different and very serious problems:

  • Many bacteria have mutated to resist particular antibiotics. The result is that antibiotics are starting to lose the war against bacterial infections.

  • The overuse of antibiotics, and the incomplete knowledge by most M.D.'s about necessary friendly gut bacteria, has resulted in much of our population having yeast and other problems. In addition, the "intrinsic" factor which helps transfer B12 from the gut into the blood is affected adversely. And, so is vitamin K, most of which is actually manufactured in the human gut by these friendly bacteria. See Digestion for more details.

The problem is that most antibiotics today are made from yeast/fungus/mold, and so do not attack these problems, but actually make them worse.

There is a very effective antibiotic that is not only cheap to make, but it can be made by anyone for a small outlay (under $35) for the stuff to do it, and you can then make gallons for pennies a gallon. Surprisingly, this is not something new, but it was known in the Middle Ages. As a matter of fact, the old saying "born with a silver spoon in the mouth" relates to this, as silver was known to ward off disease, and babies were given silver spoons and other objects to teeth on. Silver is one of the most potent antibiotics known (unfortunately not to the medical profession in general).

So, what is this "miracle" antibiotic? It's called Colloidal Silver, or CS water, and there are health food stores where it's sold for up to $50 an ounce. Since you're smart enough to read this, you get it almost free after the initial low outlay.

I believe that Colloidal Silver is even better in many ways to the "conventional antibiotic drugs" as follows:

* To date, no bacteria has been able to mutate and resist CS!

* If made correctly, the silver molecules are so small as to also kill some of the larger viruses.

* Since CS kills both bacteria and fungus, the effects on the gut flora and fauna are much less, and the balance of friendly bacteria and yeast is better maintained - a huge advantage!

Making Your Own Colloidal Silver

Go to a coin dealer, and get 2 Canadian Silver Mapleleafs. They'll be marked .9999 pure. That'll probably cost you around $20 (for 2). (That's the most expense!)

2. Go to your local flea market or thrift store, and get one of those small DC chargers (the small black kind that plugs into the wall), that has a couple of wires to a small plug. Look for one marked "output 6VDC" - that's a 6 Volt Direct Current output. DO NOT USE A HIGHER VOLTAGE. Higher voltages result in larger molecule sizes. A 5VDC one will also work. If worse comes to worse, and you live in the boondocks, you might have to buy one at Radio Shack or elsewhere.

3. Go to your local Radio Shack, and buy a couple of small insulated alligator clips. (They should know what you want.)

4. Go to a pet store and buy the cheapest smallest air pump for an aquarium you can get, along with about a foot or two of plastic tubing, a small plastic inline valve, and one air stone.

5. Go to your supermarket and buy a gallon of distilled water. (I tried Reverse Osmosis (RO) water, and it didn't seem to work as well).

6. Get a glass container that holds at least 8-16 ounces or so. The top should be glass as well, but plastic will work - no metal.

7. Get three plain clothespins.

Now you're almost ready. First, cut off the little plug on the end of the small power supply. Then, pull the two wires apart for about 12" or so. Strip both wires about 1/2" from the end. Either solder each to one of the alligator clips, or double the bare wire and crimp it to the alligator clip carefully with pliers. Make sure that you have a good connection. Clip onto the top of the silver coin, exposing as little of the metal jaws of the clip as possible.

Using the clothespins, clamp the wires of the silver coins to opposite sides of the glass, facing each other. Plug in both the charger and the air pump, and put the bubbling airstone into the bottom of the glass, holding it with another clothespin if necessary.

Fill the glass to just below the point on the coin where the alligator is clipped on. (You don't want to get the metal from the alligator clips into the water any more than possible.) Set a timer for 5-6 hours, and that's it. FYI, this is similar to electrolysis systems usually used for plating. Use the three way air valve to adjust so that the bubbles are just moving the water around gently, not bubbling too hard. Let it run for 6 hours.

You'll have 8-16 ounces of CS water. No harmful side effects, no allergic reactions to date (many antibiotics cause allergic reactions, up to and including death from anaphylaxis).

Internal use

Since the silver "particles" are so small using this method, It seems to be effective against some viral infections as well as bacterial. Tests in vitro in the lab showed the CS solution to be much better in killing all bacteria than commercial antibiotics. (5 dangerous pathogens tested, none of the antibiotics killed all of them, but the CS did.)

However, in live mice with fatal skin cancer, results were mixed with those treated living longer than the control group, but not cured.

DO NOT overuse, especially drinking it. While no harm "seems" to come from this, it can cause the same problem as any other antibiotic, mainly killing off the needed friendly bacteria in the human gut. If you use it for a viral or bacterial infection, be sure to follow it with the Acidophilus regime. This regime restores the friendly bacteria.

External use - topical

For topical or external use: No problems at all. It's been used for a deodorant (there's evidence that anti-perspirants are a factor in breast cancer and lymph node cancers). Just use a cosmetic or other small sponge to wipe the CS water underarms. Because perspiration smell is largely caused by bacteria, this simple wipe seems to keep your underarms non smelly for many hours. Completely safe and no stains.

For cuts or lacerations, or even burns, put a little onto a bandaid or a lot on a bandage to prevent infection. Attention diabetics - use this CS water to help heal all wounds faster and better. A spray bottle works well to spray a "mist" onto skin areas.

Use it for pets - a few drops into their drinking water. My cats prefer it to plain water, and cats may be smarter than us in many ways. I also have used it in an aquarium where I was losing 2-3 fish daily. Stopped the loss.

Use it for drooping plants. My wife poured some CS water onto some very droopy plants, and next day, they were much better not drooping. I tried the same experiment with other plants, and got the same results. I suspect that care should be taken so that not all the bacteria in the soil is killed, as again some has to be friendly.

CS water has been sold as a "cure-all" for many years. However, in many lab tests, it's also been shown to be a pretty good scam, as few persons have the equipment to test it, so there's a lot of poor stuff on the market. Most CS water does not have the very small particles desired (and/or needed) to fight viral infections, and overuse has turned skin grey in some cases. As with all antibiotics taken internally, use caution and use it sparingly.
