Lecithin

One of the most important nutrients for purification this phospholipid is rich in linoleic and linolenic EFAs (essential fatty acids).  It is found in egg yolk and most edible plants, including oat, wheat, rice, soy and peanuts.  It is an important anti-oxidant, and has an important role in the structure of cell wall membranes in the body.

In addition, lecithin

  • Protects the body against radiation such as x-rays and strontium- 90.
  • Protects against radiation and chemical pollutants, including the many consumer devices that emit radiation.
  • Protects the body from many environmental contaminants such as lead, mercury, aluminum, DDT, nitrates, nitrites, and toxic side effects of many drugs.
  • Helps emulsify and regulate serum (blood) cholesterol.
  • Aids in the movement of fatty acids across cell walls , helping to prevent fatty build up (plaque) and hardening of the arteries.
  • Protects the kidneys, liver and heart.
  • Prevents and dissolves kidney and gallstones through emulsification.
  • Emulsifies food fats as an essential component of bile.
  • Increases immunity against viral infections.  
  • Increases HDL or good cholesterol, lowers LDL or bad cholesterol, and protects the cardiovascular system.
  • Assists in the detoxifying functions the liver.
  • Increases resistance to dis-ease through its influence on the thymus.
  • As a phosphatide, is involved in the prevention of cardiovascular problems.
